Part-time Instructors in Mathematics

A limited number of part-time positions are available every semester. The positions are filled from a pool of qualified applicants. The appointment is usually for one semester (15 weeks). There is no guarantee for continued employment.  Reappointment is possible if performance is favorable and positions are available.

Minimum Qualifications:
      Master's in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics,
OR
       Bachelor's in either of the above AND Master's in Statistics,
      Physics, or Mathematics Education,
OR
      possess a valid California Community College Instructor
      Credential  for service in Mathematics,
OR
      the equivalent . (Check with the District Office for the
                                    equivalency requirement).
Duties:
          Teach from 3 to 9 units of remedial courses in arithmetic, algebra, or lower division mathematics courses such as statistics, college algebra, trigonometry, finite mathematics, calculus, linear algebra and ordinary differential equations. Day and evening assignments may be available.

Hourly Rate Range: (2004-05 Salary Schedule)
   $47.29  to $ 58.96 per hour. Plus $11.05 office hour differential (not summer session)
